Common use of Bench Strength Clause in Contracts

Bench Strength. Compass Solutions maintains a strong candidate pool so that additional resources can be provided to a client within 24-hours to replace existing staff or augment a task order. We ensure our bench strength and prompt turn-around through several means: Internal shadowing resources: Compass Solutions maintains corporate resources that can replace or assist an on-site employee. We current maintain a ratio of 6:1. For example, for every six Business Analysts on-site supporting the client, we have one internal candidate (“Shadow”) supporting those Business Analysts. The Shadow is familiar with the client’s environment and technologies and can step in during absences or as replacements very quickly. To demonstrate, our client, the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), requested a replacement for our employee who was going on maternity leave; they also wanted an overlap between both employees to ensure knowledge transfer; we were able to comply and provide a strong resource with a strong knowledge of OSSE’s infrastructure within 48 hours. Our client, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) wanted a replacement for our on-site project manager overseeing data center projects; we were able to provide a suitable replacement from our “shadow” team within 24 hours. Internal database of proven resources: Compass Solutions currently maintains resumes of proven professionals in our internal database. We have over 2,000 resumes with over 300 of those having worked on at least 1 engagement with us. We are able to quickly tap this rich internal resource to meet demands for replacements, additions and augmentation promptly. We believe that we will be able to meet at least 80% of the bench strength requirements Florida IT Staff Augmentation Services Project using this resource. Recruiting Networks: In addition to our traditional resources, Compass Solutions belongs to several recruiting networks where consultants are advertised and engaged. We have used these resources occasionally to both recruit and place our consultants. Our key to successful placement is in ensuring a suitable fit for each and every position. On our current Information Technology Staff Augmentation (ITSA) contract with the District of Columbia [DC] government, we have provided 87 candidates for various positions.
