Beach. Beach will be open from Memorial day through Labor Day. The beach may close due to weather conditions, high water or staffing. Beach rules are posted at the beach. Beach attendants and any other Campground employee have the authority to send individuals off the beach for not following the posted rules, or verbal requests. A parent or other responsible adult must accompany children under 12 years of age – the beach attendant is not a babysitter. Fishing: Fishing is included in the camping fee for the two ponds and out the gate at what is known as “The Beaver Pond.” Please do not fish from other campsites without permission from that camper. Observe the private “No Fishing Beyond this Point” signs as well as the “No swimming” notes at the ponds. The lake is a pay lake (An Ohio Fishing License is not required) Lake fishing is available for a fee by the season or day. See price sheet. There are limits on the number, size and species that can be kept. You may fish in Austin Lake only from designated fishing docks or a boat, not from shore. Night fishing in the lake is not permitted, but the three ponds are acceptable for night fishing. Boating: Season boat memberships are available to the Camper family. This includes use of the lake for fishing by eligible family members and putting one boat, 2 kayaks or 2 paddleboards in the lake. Kayaks and paddleboards can be kept at Camper’s site. No swimming from docks or boats. Any guests fishing must purchase a fishing permit from the office daily. No night fishing is permitted, but cruising at night is permitted with the use of ODNR required lights. Boat engine limit is 25 horsepower. One personal floatation device (“PFD”) is required per person to operate a boat in the State of Ohio. PFDs must be worn by children under 10 years old. A certificate of insurance must be filed with the Campground with a minimum of $100,000 for boats. No one born after January 1, 1982 may operate a boat of 10 hp or more unless they have successfully completed a boating safety course approved by the State of Ohio.
