Assignment Out-of-State. Where it is reasonably anticipated that an Employee will be assigned to work out-of-State for more than five (5) consecutive workdays with an intervening Saturday and Sunday without a work assignment, the affected Employee may request in advance of the work assignment that his/her appointing authority approve reimbursement for expenses necessary to return the Employee to his/her Maine headquarters for the weekend. Such a request shall be approved if the travel costs incurred by returning to Maine for the weekend are equal to or less than lodging and estimated meal expenses for the weekend if the Employee remains at the out-of-State assignment location. This paragraph shall not apply if the employee volunteered to work out of state for a period more than ten (10) consecutive days. When employee will be out of state more than ten (10) consecutive days’ terms and conditions for employees returning to Maine during weekends will be posted as part of the voluntary assignment.
