Reimbursable overtime scheduled outside the ADP assignment shall be paid at the employee’s overtime rate not including ADP except that in the situation where an employee normally receives ADP and is working an overtime assignment that is the same function for which he receives ADP, the overtime shall be paid at the employee’s overtime rate including ADP. Members transferring for the first time to the Traffic Section or any investigative unit will receive four percent (4%) increase in pay for the first year and another four percent (4%) increase in pay thereafter while so assigned. Members who are transferring from one ADP assignment to another ADP assignment, regardless of bureau, will maintain their eight percent (8%) increase. Within six (6) months of the assignment, new officers assigned to these areas must establish residence in a location that will allow a 30 minute response time to the resident area of responsibility to retain the 20%.
Assignment Differential Pay. A. Employees who are utilized as Field Training Officers or Range Masters shall receive a five percent (5%) differential while assigned duties specifically related to the Field Training and Evaluation Program/Range Program. Such differential shall be paid for an entire day in which the special duties were performed during any part of said day. This differential will be in addition to any other compensation provided in this Agreement, except for temporary supervisor pay. B. Crime Scene Investigators Differential: Employees assigned as Crime Scene Investigators shall receive five percent (5%) differential during the period of such assignment. Employees not assigned as a Crime Scene Investigator, but who otherwise possess the necessary qualifications, which are assigned on a case-by-case basis to perform crime scene investigations shall receive five percent (5%) differential during the actual period of such assignment. Such differential shall be paid for an entire shift during which the crime scene investigation duties were performed. This differential will be in addition to any other compensation provided in this agreement except for temporary supervisor pay. C. Deputy Sheriffs assigned to the Detective Division, Narcotics Division, and Forensic Investigation Section and Deputies assigned to the R.A.V.E.N. Program or Extradition Unit who are piloting aircraft shall receive a salary increase of approximately ten percent (10%) during the period of such assignment. D. The following assignments shall also qualify for a five percent (5%) incentive differential during the time period a deputy is so assigned: 1. Armorer 2. Training Section Deputy 3. Background Deputy 4. Motors 5. Administrative Deputy 6. Inmate Assistance Program Deputy 7. MAIT E. Deputy Sheriffs assigned a canine or assigned to canine duties will be compensated an additional seven (7) hours per week at their assigned rate of pay to account for canine maintenance, etc. (Revised 1-1-04) F. Deputy Sheriffs who are assigned by the Sheriff to work in the Special Needs/Mental Health Unit, who have been certified as qualified through training and approval of the Sheriff’s Office, shall receive a five percent (5%) differential during the time period the Deputy is so assigned. Nothing contained in this provision shall be interpreted to restrict the Sheriff’s Office from assigning any deputy to work in the Special Needs/Mental Health Unit. (Added 7-01-05)

B. Assignment Differential Pay assignments are not promotional and therefore no property rights exist. Additionally, employees shall only be paid assignment differential pay for the duration of their assignment. C. Field Training Officer (FTO) - Must be an officer who has completed an FTO training program and is currently certified to train in this field. An FTO Officer, only while actively involved in field training will receive the following: Employees with the rank of Police Officer will receive an additional ten percent (10%) above their base wage. Employees with the rank of Sergeant or higher will receive an additional five percent(5%) above their base wage. D. Resource Officer / G.R.E.A.T. Officer - Must be an officer who has completed a Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) program and is currently certified to teach in this field. A GREAT Officer, when funded by the annual CITY budget, and only while actively teaching the GREAT program, will receive a five percent (5%) increase in base pay. E. An employee assigned to more than one assignment eligible for ADP shall receive no more than eight percent (8%) total assignment differential pay.

ADP for Instruction and Training Officer Duties, including Field Training Officer Duties: Any individual who is acting as a Field Training Officer (FTO) or assigned to lead a required instruction and/or training shall receive ADP in addition to their regular pay for all approved time spent training/instructing in accordance with this provision. ADP will be paid in an amount equivalent to ten percent (10%) of the individual’s base rate of pay for the time actually worked in the instruction and training of other officers. The Chief may require substantiation of participation in said training and/or instruction before the individual becomes eligible to receive ADP. The Chief at his/her discretion may assign instruction/training courses for individuals to lead. While individual may occupy more than one ADP eligible assignment, employees in multiple ADP eligible assignments may only receive ADP for one assignment at a time.
Assignment Differential Pay. 13.12.1 Effective with the adoption of this Memorandum of Understanding by the Board of Supervisors, any supervisor who, on a regular basis, directly supervises twelve (12) or more subordinates, shall be compensated an additional five percent (5%) above the base salary for his/her classification during such assignment. Subordinates shall include limited term or extra help employees who are filling an authorized position. Where more than one employee is filling one position, it shall be counted as one. Where one employee is filling a full- time position on a part-time basis, it shall be counted as one. 13.12.2 Those employees assigned to the Ombudsperson Program at the Child Support Office prior to November 1, 2010 shall receive a seven percent (7%) differential above their base salary during the term of such assignment.
