The Asbestos Materials clause defines the responsibilities and procedures related to the presence, handling, or discovery of asbestos-containing materials within a property or project site. Typically, this clause requires parties to identify, disclose, and manage any asbestos materials in accordance with applicable laws and safety standards, and may specify who bears the cost and risk of remediation or removal. Asbestos Materials. Some areas of University Housing have asbestos containing materials present. A licensed asbestos abatement team manages these materials. Residents should use caution to not disturb any sprayed-on ceiling materials. Asbestos Materials. Employees required to wear protective equipment (i.e. combination overalls and breathing equipment or similar apparatus) as part of the necessary safeguards required by the appropriate occupational health authority for the use of materials containing asbestos or to work in close proximity to employees using such materials will be paid an allowance in accordance with Clause A2 – Allowance table whilst wearing such equipment.
Asbestos Materials. The use and uncontrolled release of asbestos products, in particular amosite (brown) and crocidolite (blue), is not permitted at the venues. Dubai Municipality technical guidelines apply with regards to the use of this product. Asbestos products must not be brought into the venues without the prior permission of the Dubai World Trade Centre Health and Safety Team and any relevant government bodies. Contractors involved in the removal or treating of asbestos products must be suitably protected from harm and it shall be the responsibility of the employer to ensure that measures are in place to provide sufficient protection. Occupational exposure levels in the form of threshold limit values and biological exposure indices must not be exceeded. Work with asbestos must only be carried out by approved specialist contractors with a corresponding Risk Assessment and Method Statement.

Asbestos Materials a. Asbestos material removal unless the asbestos itself is damaged by fire, lightning, explosion, windstorm or hail, smoke, aircraft or vehicle impact, riot or civil commotion, vandalism, or sprinkler leakage;
b. Demolition or increased cost of construction, repair, debris removal or loss of use necessitated by the enforcement of any law or ordinance regulating asbestos material;
c. Any governmental direction or request declaring that asbestos material present in or part of or utilized on any undamaged portion of your property can no longer be used for the purpose for which it was intended or installed and must be removed or modified.

An employee engaged in cutting tiles by electric saw will be paid 59 cents per hour whilst so engaged.
(a) An employee working on a chimney stack, spire, tower, radio or television mast or tower, air shaft (other than above ground in a multi-storey building), cooling tower, water tower or silo, where the construction exceeds fifteen metres in height will be paid for all work above fifteen metres 48 cents per hour, additional for work above each further fifteen metres.
(b) Any similarly constructed building, or a building not covered by 44.4(b), which exceeds fifteen metres in height may be covered by this clause, or by 44.4 by agreement or where no agreement is reached, by determination of the Commission in accordance with the Disputes Resolution Procedure.
