ARTICLE NO DISCRIMINATION. The Employer agrees that there shall be no discrimination, interference, restriction, or coercion exercised or practised with respect to any employee in the matter of hiring, wage rates, training, upgrading, promotion, transfer, layoff, recall, discipline, discharge, membership or activity in the Union, political or religious affiliation, race, creed, colour, handicapped, sex, sexual orientation, age or marital status. The Employer also agrees to abide by applicable legislation governing any employee in the Province of Ontario and/or under the Canada Labour Code.
