Appointment of Stewards. A. The Union will certify to the Employer in writing a xxxxxxx or stewards and alternates in accordance with the fol- lowing general guidelines. Where more than one xxxxxxx is appointed, one shall be designated chief xxxxxxx. The selection and appointment of stewards or chief stewards is the sole and exclusive function of the Union. Stewards will be certified to represent employees in specific work location(s) on their tour; provided no more than one xxxxxxx may be certified to repre- sent employees in a particular work location(s). The number of stewards certified shall not exceed, but may be less than, the number provided by the formula hereinafter set forth. Appointment of Stewards. 8.01 The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint employees as Stewards. The Union will provide the Employer with the names of all representatives, the jurisdiction they represent, a contact number and work location before the Employer is required to recognize them.

The Bargaining Agent agrees to exclude employees who are serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces and subject to the National Defence Act, Code of Service Discipline, from any/all union offices. This does not preclude an employee who is a member of the reserves from serving as a shop xxxxxxx while employed at an NPF unit.

The names of the Stewards shall be given to the Corporation in writing and the Corporation shall not be required to recognize any such Stewards until it has been so notified.

A xxxxxxx or stewards may be designated by the Union to represent more than one facility within the jurisdiction of the same Center; however, such xxxxxxx or stewards would not be in addition to the below described formula of stewards per employees.
Appointment of Stewards. 8.01 The Council acknowledges the right of the Professional Institute to appoint Stewards from amongst the employees. The Council and the Professional Institute shall by mutual agreement determine the geographical area of jurisdiction of each Xxxxxxx, having regard to the plan of organization and the distribution of employees at the workplace.
Appointment of Stewards. Section 2.18 The Union has the right to appoint Stewards at any shop and/or any job where workers are employed under the terms of this Agreement. The Employer shall be notified and furnished the name of the Xxxxxxx. Such Stewards shall be allowed sufficient time during the regular working hours without loss of pay to see that the terms and conditions of this Agreement are observed at his shop or on his job. No Xxxxxxx shall be discriminated against by any Employer because of his faithful performance of duties as Xxxxxxx, nor shall any Xxxxxxx be removed from the job until notice has been given to the Business Manager of the Union. The Xxxxxxx shall be one of the last eight (8) Journeymen on the project as long as he is capable to perform the work.

The activities of such Union officer shall be in lieu of a xxxxxxx designated under the formula in Section 2A and shall be in accordance with Section 17.3. Payment, when appli- cable, shall be in accordance with Section 17.4. C To provide xxxxxxx service to a number of small installations where a xxxxxxx is not provided by the above formula, the Union representative certified to the Employer in writing and compen- sated by the Union may perform the duties of a xxxxxxx. D At the option of the Union, representatives not on the Employer’s payroll shall be entitled to perform the functions of a xxxxxxx or chief xxxxxxx, provided such representatives are certified in writing to the Employer at the District level, with a courtesy copy to the Area, and providing such representatives act in lieu of stewards designated under the provisions of 2A or 2B above.
Appointment of Stewards. 10.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint a reasonable number of Stewards, having regard to the plan of organization, the dispersement of employees at the work place, and the administrative structure implied in the grievance procedure.
