Application Period. Requests for leaves of absence for restoration of health shall be submitted as far in advance of the beginning of the leave as practical. Requests for leaves of absence for professional development and the required detailed plan of professional development activities shall be submitted on or before March 31 of the school year prior to the beginning of the school term of the desired leave.
