Common use of Accumulation Unit Clause in Contracts

Accumulation Unit. Contributions (including Transfer requests) received at the Administrative Offices of Great-West before the close of a Valuation Period will be allocated as requested and applied as of that date based upon the Accumulation Unit value for that Variable Account. For each Contribution and Transfer request, the number of Accumulation Units credited to a Variable Account is determined by: (a) the dollar amount allocated to that Variable Account; divided by (b) the value of the Accumulation Unit for that Variable Account for the Valuation Date on which the Contribution is allocated to that Variable Account. The number of Accumulation Units will not change because of a later change in the Accumulation Unit value. However, the Accumulation Unit value will vary to reflect the investment experience of the Variable Account.
