Academic Progress. Student shall maintain satisfactory progress in all core courses taken. If student's semester average is less than 75 in any of the core subject areas of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, the student may be placed on academic probation for the next semester. If any of student's averages is below 75 in any core subject at the end of the probationary period, the student may be denied transfer status in the following school year. In addition, student also must pass the appropriate grade level or course state assessment. Failure of a state exam invalidates the transfer agreement, although the parent will be allowed to appeal. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to update contact information with the District accordingly. Transfer students who enroll after the first instructional day may be required to attend a mandatory parent and student meeting upon their starting school. Failure to attend the required parent conferences without documented justifiable reason may result in the student being denied transfer status in future school years. Student and parent/ guardian shall support the mission, goals and purposes of ▇▇▇▇ ISD as well as abide by all established policies, administrative rules, regulations, and guidelines governing the academic programs of ▇▇▇▇ ISD and its respective campuses. In lieu of volunteer hours, families may contribute $15.00 for every hour of required volunteer service to the campus activity account. The hours or donations must be completed prior to the last instructional day of the school year. A list of potential volunteer opportunities and the process for accounting of the hours and/or donations will be communicated to the parent/guardian on an annual basis. Students and parents are also required to attend orientation before the beginning of the school year. Parents are expected to join at least one district committee or organization. Failure to complete this requirement may result in the student being denied transfer status in future school years, including a revocation of a transfer already approved for the next school year.
