Supervisors Working. (a) The work of Supervisors will not include assignment to work normally performed by employees of the bargaining unit except for training or demonstration. “Training or demonstration” shall not be used as a subterfuge for the performing of any bargaining unit work. Any claimed abuses will be referred to the Grievance Procedure. Where possible, the shop xxxxxxx will be notified. Supervisors will not perform bargaining unit work until after all rea- sonable efforts have been exhausted to have the work covered.

Supervisors Working. No supervisor shall be used to prevent employees from working a 40-hour work week or as a substitute for overtime. Supervisors shall be permitted to instruct an employee in the work of his classification or to provide coverage in emergency circumstances or as a last resort when no bargaining unit employees are available.
Supervisors Working. (A) The Employer agrees that the function of supervisors is the supervision of Employees and not the performance of the work of the employees they supervise. Accordingly, the Employer agrees that supervisors or other employees of the Employer who are not members of the bargaining unit shall not perform any bargaining unit work, except for the purpose of training, demonstration and demonstrate safety, or as otherwise provided in the applicable Supplement. The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to maintain a sufficient workforce to staff its operations with bargaining unit employees. The Employer also agrees that supervisors or other employees of the Employer who are not members of the bargaining unit shall not perform bargaining unit work in preparing the work areas before the start of the Employer’s hub, preload or reload operation, nor shall the Employer send any bargaining unit employees home and then have such employee’s work performed by a supervisor or other employees of the Employer who is not a member of the bargaining unit.

Supervisors Working. It is the express policy of the Company that supervisory personnel are for the purpose of carrying out supervisory functions and are not expected to displace employees covered by this Agreement. However, a supervisory employee may perform operations where an emergency arises out of unforeseen circumstances which calls for immediate action to avoid interruption of operations for purposes of instruction or training as may be necessary in the discharge of his/her supervisory duties, provided that the act of performing the aforementioned operations in itself does not reduce or affect the hours of work or pay of any employees covered by this Agreement.

Supervisors Working. 24.01 It is not the intention of the Company that employees outside of the Bargaining Unit shall do Bargaining Unit work except in the cases listed below. It is recognized however, that staff employees may occasionally become involved in work to a minor degree. (For example: a Supervisor may help an employee line up a pipe on a project but is not expected to actually assemble the piping.)
Supervisors Working. No employee outside the bargaining unit shall perform any work customarily performed by employees within the bargaining unit. It is agreed, however, the Supervisors may perform such work while acting as instructors or assisting in solving a production problem. It is further recognized that it is part of the normal procedure of supervision to test and inspect. During the period in which a shortage of staffing exists due to absenteeism or assignment of personnel to other jobs, the Shipping Department, Maintenance and Tool Room, Machine Shop, and Repair Department Supervisors are excluded from this limitation.
