Sprague means Sprague Energy Corp, headquartered in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which provides space for Deicing Salt and Other Services.
Sprague or “the Company”) is a Delaware limited liability company engaged in the purchase, storage, distribution and sale of refined petroleum products, and natural gas and also provides storage and handling services for a broad range of materials. We are one of the largest independent wholesale distributors of refined products in the Northeast United States based on aggregate terminal capacity. We own and/or operate a large network of 15 refined products and materials handling terminals strategically located throughout the Northeast. The wholesale customers resell the refined products we sell to them and commercial customers consume the refined products we sell to them. The wholesale customers consist largely of home heating oil retailers and diesel fuel and gasoline resellers. The commercial customers include federal and state agencies, municipalities, regional transit authorities, large industrial companies, hospitals and educational institutions. Although for internal purposes ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ separates its refined products and natural gas businesses into smaller components (e.g. Supply and Marketing), it consolidates results of these groups for reporting purposes. With respect to its refined products (a.k.a. oil) and natural gas businesses, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ enters into a variety of transactions including exchange- traded futures and options contracts and various over-the-counter derivative instruments that may result in physical delivery or are settled financially. In order to manage the risks associated with its core business activities, Sprague has centralized its supply and trading activities into its Portsmouth, NH headquarters.
