Environmental Specialist definition

Environmental Specialist means City staff with environmental expertise, such as but not limited to Energy Management, Facility and Property Management, Corporate Services Department; the Environment Division, Community Services Department; and Environmental Services, Transportation & Infrastructure Planning Division, Transportation and Works Department .
Environmental Specialist means a person who holds a tertiary qualification in environmental science or equivalent, and has experience relevant to the type of environmental advice that an environmental specialist is required to provide under this Permit, or who is approved by the CEO as a suitable environmental specialist; local provenance means native vegetation seeds and propagating material from natural sources within 200 kilometres and the same Interim Biogeographic Regionalisation for Australia (IBRA) subregion of the area cleared;
Environmental Specialist means a person who holds a tertiary qualification in environmental science or equivalent, and has experience relevant to the type of environmental advice that an environmental specialist is required to provide under this Permit, or who is approved by the CEO as a suitable environmental specialist;

Examples of Environmental Specialist in a sentence

  • The Consultant, therefore, shall assist the City in determining whether environmental impact statements ("EIS") should be prepared and shall assist the City or the City's Environmental Specialist in preparing any necessary EIS.

  • Employees in the classification of Environmental Specialist IV who serve on the Environmental Health Emergency Response Team shall receive compensation on an hour for hour basis (straight time), for time spent on call-outs outside of their regular work hours.

  • Employees in the classifications of Fire Non-Safety Environmental Specialists, Sr. Fire Environmental Specialist, Fire Prevention Inspector, Sr. Fire Prevention Inspector, Fire Protection Engineering Assistant, Fire Protection Engineering Associate, Fire Protection Engineer I, Fire Protection Specialist I, Engineering Project Specialist (Fire) and Plan Checker (Fire) shall receive an annual uniform clothing and equipment allowance in lieu of issue of seven hundred fifty four dollars ($754.00) per year.

  • Compliance Assistance letters may be prepared and sent by an individual(s) at the Environmental Specialist I level under the direction of an individual at the Environmental Specialist II level or higher.

  • If the proposed project involves only those activities listed in Appendix A as “Exempt Activities,” a VTrans Environmental Specialist or Qualified Staff will complete the Exempt Activity Form and Send a copy with the project.

  • An employee in the classification of Environmental Specialist IV shall accrue one (1) hour of compensating time off for each hour worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day or forty (40) hours per week.

  • For the purposes of seniority, Environmental Specialist in the I and II levels shall be considered as the same class.

  • The consultant must also propose an Environmental Specialist I or II who is qualified with experience in water-related issues including knowledge of stream restoration, water quality and quantity assessments, analysis of pollutant loadings in stormwater runoff, erosion and sediment control planning, soil bioengineering and a variety of other water quality issues.

  • All environmental studies must be conducted and signed-off by a Qualified Environmental Specialist and they must meet the scope of work and detailed plans outlined in the proposal provided with the grant application form to the City’s satisfaction.

  • An individual(s) in a position equivalent to an Environmental Specialist II level or higher shall conduct Level 1 Compliance Assistance activities.

Related to Environmental Specialist

  • Environmental Site Assessment means a Phase I environmental report meeting the requirements of the American Society for Testing and Materials, and, if in accordance with customary industry standards a reasonable lender would require it, a Phase II environmental report, each prepared by a licensed third party professional experienced in environmental matters.

  • Environmental Safeguards means the principles and requirements set forth in Chapter V, Appendix 1, and Appendix 4 (as applicable) of the SPS;

  • Environmental Harm means serious or material environmental harm or environmental nuisance as defined in the Environmental Protection ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ (Qld);

  • environmental impact assessment means a systematic examination conducted to determine whether or not a programme, activity or project will have any adverse impacts on the environment;

  • Environmental Hazard means any substance the presence, use, transport, abandonment or disposal of which (i) requires investigation, remediation, compensation, fine or penalty under any Applicable Law (including, without limitation, the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act, Superfund Amendment and Reauthorization Act, Resource Conservation Recovery Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act and provisions with similar purposes in applicable foreign, state and local jurisdictions) or (ii) poses risks to human health, safety or the environment (including, without limitation, indoor, outdoor or orbital space environments) and is regulated under any Applicable Law.
