Rainwater catchment definition

Rainwater catchment means a structure for the collection of rainwater. Rainwater catchment systems may be subject to surface water runoff, as in the case of ground-level reservoirs that collect rainwater that has traveled over the surface of the land, or may not be subject to surface water runoff, as in the case of rainwater roof catchments. A rainwater catchment may be a public water system or a part of a public water system if the water system meets the definition of public water system at § 1100.3(s) above.
