Practice Educator(s) definition

Practice Educator(s) means the person(s) employed by and appointed by the Sponsor to be responsible for supervision of practice learning periods.

  • This program is established to provide faculty members (tenured or tenure-track) or Librarians/Nursing Practice Educators (permanent) an opportunity to support research through grants in lieu of salary.

  • Nursing Practice Educators shall receive in each vacation year, 20 work days vacation, 25 work days for Nursing Practice Educators who have completed fifteen (15) years service at the University including time spent with St. FX, during which time regular pay and benefits shall continue.

  • Students should receive a minimum of one formal supervision session with their Practice Educator(s) each week.

  • Practice Educators must undertake regular training which is appropriate to their role, learners’ needs and the delivery of the learning outcomes of the programme.
