Planting Specifications. All planting done by the Contractor shall meet the following specifications: The Department reserves the right to determine the order in which the tracts are to be planted. Trees shall be planted in each site as indicated on the attached maps. Trees shall be planted in the center of the trench where applicable. Trees shall be planted in a vertical position and at the depth of the trees' original ground line. Trees shall be planted 6 feet apart, unless otherwise designated by the Department planting site maps. The Contractor may not pack the soil by stomping ("death stomp") the ground with a foot. Firm foot pressure to accomplish the task is permitted. Tree roots shall be positioned in a planting hole prepared by the Contractor in a natural position free from crooks, bends, twists and bunching. Mineral soil shall be firmly packed around each tree in such a manner that the planted tree will resist a firm pull and all air pockets are eliminated around the roots. Tree tops shall be freed from all soil, sticks, duff and similar debris after the tree is planted. The Contractor shall supply a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ who can communicate fluently in English and who shall monitor the performance of the planting crew to ensure the planting is completed according to this contract. The Contractor shall supply at least one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for every 9 planters. The Department may cancel this contract at any time due to the inability to communicate effectively with the planting crew ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. The Contractor shall supply a crew of at least 10 people and no more than 22 people (including the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇) at all times while planting under this contract. Once the planting is initiated, all acres as determined by the Department, shall be planted consecutively unless otherwise approved by the Department.
