Pigment definition

Pigment means a “Coating Solid” of either natural or synthetic insoluble material added to a coating to provide color, opacity, or corrosion inhibition to a coating film.
Pigment means “color additive” as 21 CFR Part 70, particularly at § 70.3, defines that term.
Pigment means finely ground insoluble powder that provides an architectural coat- ing with any of the following properties: colour, corrosion inhibition, conductivity, opacity, sheen, gloss or improved mechani- cal properties.

More Definitions of Pigment

Pigment means a powdered substance that is suspended in a liquid in which it is insoluble. A pigment can be a fluorescent pigment, phosphorescent pigment, pearlescent pigment, or conventional pigment. While any suitable pigment may be employed, it is presently preferred that the pigment be heat resistant, non-toxic and insoluble in aqueous solutions.
