Large vehicles definition

Large vehicles means the following recreational, commercial or private vehicles, as defined in 75 Pa.C.S.A.§ 102, and as amended from time to time: Articulated Bus, Combination, Construction Truck, construction trailer, contractor trailer, Driveaway-towaway Operation, Farm Equipment, Full Trailer, House Trailer, Limousine (capable of carrying ten or more passengers), Maxi-cube Vehicle, Mobile Home, Motor Carrier Vehicle, Motor Home, Recreational Vehicle or Trailer, Semitrailer, Stinger-steered Automobile or Boat Transporter, Tow Dolly, Tow Truck, Trailer, Truck-camper, Truck Trailer, and Truck Tractor.
Large vehicles shall have the meaning set forth in the Federal Highways (Tolling) Regulations, 2021.

  • Tank vehicle means a commercial motor vehicle that is designed to transport any liquid or gaseous materials within a tank or tanks having an individual rated capacity of more than one hundred nineteen gallons and an aggregate rated capacity of one thousand gallons or more that is either permanently or temporarily attached to the vehicle or chassis. A commercial motor vehicle transporting an empty storage container tank not designed for transportation with a rated capacity of one thousand gallons or more that is temporarily attached to a flatbed trailer is not considered a tank vehicle.

  • Livery vehicle means a motor vehicle that:

  • School vehicle means any school bus, school van, other school vehicle and private vehicle used to transport students or staff members to and from school or any school-sponsored activity or event.

  • Private Hire Vehicle means a licensed vehicle constructed or adapted to seat fewer than nine passengers, other than a hackney carriage or public service vehicle, which is provided for hire with the services of a driver for the purpose of carrying passengers

  • public service vehicle means any motor vehicle used or adapted to be used for the carriage of passengers for hire or reward, and includes a maxi cab, a motorcar, contract carriage and stage carriage.

  • Gross vehicle mass or "maximum mass" means the technically permissible maximum laden mass as declared by the manufacturer.

  • Heavy Vehicle has the meaning given to it in the HNVL.
