IRA Contract definition

IRA Contract. A Contract issued as an Individual Retirement Annuity (IRA) as defined under section 408(b) of the Code or as a ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇ as defined under section 403A(b) of the Code.

  • Notwithstanding any provision of this IRA Contract Amendment to the contrary, the distribution of the Owner's interest in the IRA shall be made in accordance with the requirements of Code Section 408(b)(3) and the regulations thereunder, the provisions of which are herein incorporated by reference.

  • IRA Contract A contract used in or under a retirement plan or program that is intended to qualify as an Individual Retirement Annuity under Section 408(b) of the Code.

  • The Company may also find it necessary to modify this Contract in order to maintain its status as an annuity, an IRA Contract or Qualified Contract under the provisions of the Code, ERISA, or to comply with state law.

  • An IRA Contract will accept as a single purchase payment a transfer or rollover from another IRA (including a SEP or SIMPLE IRA) or rollover from an eligible retirement plan of an employer (i.e., 401(a), 401(k), 403(a), 403(b) or governmental 457(b) plans.) A rollover or transfer from a SIMPLE IRA is allowed provided that the taxpayer has participated in such arrangement for at least two years.

  • To the extent that the Alternate Payee becomes a GLWB Elector, he or she will be subject to all terms and conditions of the Certificate, the IRA Contract and the Code.

  • If the Plan requires automatic distribution of a Participant Account following termination of employment (a so-called “auto-cashout”), such distribution will be made in accordance with the Plan provisions, provided that a Participant who was not eligible to make a Direct Rollover to the SecurePath for Life IRA Contract shall receive the greater of their Account Value or the Guarantee Value upon the distribution of the Participant’s Account.

  • Except as otherwise indicated in this Section or the Data Pages, a Contribution to this IRA Contract must be a direct rollover contribution.

  • We do not offer this IRA Contract as an inherited IRA contract so we do not accept direct transfer contributions from the traditional IRA of a deceased IRA owner, nor do we accept direct rollover contributions from beneficiaries of deceased plan participants in eligible retirement plans.

  • Your death may terminate an optional benefit described in a Rider to your IRA Contract as described below.
