Home Health Agency (HHA) health agency definition

Home Health Agency (HHA) health agency or “HHA” means any business entity or sub-division thereof, whether public or private, proprietary or not-for-profit, which provides, to an individual primarily in her/his their place of residence, two (2) or more home care services, one of which must be either licensed nursing services or home health aide services.

  • Home health agency means a person certified by medicare whose business is to provide to individuals in their places of residence other than in a hospital, nursing home, or county medical care facility 1 or more of the following services: nursing services, therapeutic services, social work services, homemaker services, home health aide services, or other related services.

  • Home Health Care Agency means an agency or organization which provides a program of home health care and which:

  • Home health aide means an individual employed by a home health agency to provide home health services under the direction of a registered nurse or therapist.

  • Federal Health Care Program means any plan or program that provides health care benefits, whether directly, through insurance, or otherwise, that is funded directly, in whole or in part, by the government of the United States of America (other than the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program), including the Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE programs (described in Title XVIII of the SSA, Title XIX of the SSA, and Title 10, Chapter 55 of the U.S.C., respectively), or any state health care program (as defined in Section 1128(h) of the SSA).

  • Public health authority means an agency or authority of the United States, a state, a territory, a political subdivision of a state or territory, or an Indian tribe, or a person or organization acting under a grant of authority from or contract with a public agency that is responsible for public health matters as part of its official mandate. “Public health authority” includes the employees or agents of the public agency and its contractors or persons or organizations to which it has granted authority.
