Fire Academy definition

Fire Academy means the course of instruction necessary for a Cadet to obtain basic structural firefighting certification by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, and to become a Fire Fighter in the Fire Department. Cadets may also receive EMT or Paramedic training while in the Fire Academy as required.
Fire Academy means the CFD Fire Acad emy South, located at 1338 S. Clinton Ave., Chicago, Illinois 60607-5037.

  • Section 11.3 Requests for educational incentive shall be submitted to the Fire Chief or his/her designee following the completion of course work or after graduation from the Fire Academy.

  • The District shall allow its employees time off without loss of benefits to attend fire service related classes sponsored by the National Fire Academy and the California State Fire Academy when approved by the Fire Chief.

  • The Union will be allowed a scheduled four (4) hour orientation class with Fire Cadets within the first two (2) weeks of entering the Fire Academy.

  • The City of Warwick further agrees to grant each student that attends the National Fire Academy a sum of money to cover all fees, meals and travel expenses to and from the National Fire Academy.

  • Eligible programs include: College curriculum classes required to complete an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, both online and traditional format; National Fire Academy classes; State Fire Marshal classes; NWCG/CCIICS classes; FEMA classes; Marin County Fire Chief Association classes; and those classes authorized and approved by the educational committee.

  • the Academy means the school referred to in Article 4 and established by the Academy Trust;

  • fire hydrant means a fire plug or fixed pillar fire hydrant;

  • Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater means the most recent edition of Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater published jointly by the American Public Health Association, the American Waterworks Association and the Water Environment Federation;

  • Fire fighter means a member, including a volunteer member and a member who is paid on call, of an organized fire department that is responsible for, or is in a capacity that includes responsibility for, the extinguishment of fires, the directing of the extinguishment of fires, the prevention and detection of fires, and the enforcement of the general fire laws of this state. Fire fighter does not include a person whose job description, duties, or responsibilities do not include direct involvement in fire suppression.

  • Noncommunity water system means a public water system that is not a community water system.
