Fee Allowance definition

Fee Allowance for the purpose of calculating payment to Clinician, shall mean the lower of 1) the Clinician’s normal charge for a procedure, or 2) the allowance for a procedure as set forth in the CBA Fee Allowances (Appendix B). In accordance with the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, effective January 1, 1995, the Medicare Part B equivalent amount will be applied to claims for physicians’ services to retirees and annuitants enrolled in the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program (FEP) who are 64 years of age and older and who are not covered by Medicare Part B. The Fee Allowance for these Members is thereby the lowest of the Clinicians’ normal charge, the CBA Fee Schedule of Allowances or the Medicare Part B equivalent amount.
