Extensive Assistance means a client is [totally] dependent or requires weight-bearing support
Extensive Assistance means a client is totally dependent or requires hands on assistance more than half the time while performing part of an activity, and meets one of the following criteria:

Extensive Assistance means one of five levels of assistance used when assessing an applicant or participant’s self-performance of Activities of Daily Living. Levels range from “Independent” to “Total” assistance. An applicant or participant is assessed as needing “Extensive Assistance” when hands on assistance or standby assistance is needed to complete the task safely within a reasonable period of time and when the assistance has been provided three or more times in the last seven days.
Extensive Assistance means weight-bearing assistance. Participant performed part of activity completing greater than 50% of task on own.
Extensive Assistance means a client is totally dependent or requires weight-bearing support more than half the time while performing part of an activity, such as guiding or maneuvering of limbs, and meets one of the following criteria:
Extensive Assistance means the recipient is able to perform part of the activity, but at least three times per week, he or she requires direct physical help from another individual for weight-bearing support or full performance of the activity. See Exhibit E, p. 7; 7 AAC 125.020(a)(2).
