EXCESSIVE LOADING definition

EXCESSIVE LOADING means any discharge resulting in a Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) or Total Suspended Solids (TSS) loading in excess of 350 mg/l. Where a correlation is established between BOD, COD and TOC, a discharge is excess of the equivalent COD or TOC, loading shall constitute excessive loading.

  • Slug loading means any pollutant, including oxygen demanding pollutants, released in a discharge at a flow rate and/or pollutant concentration as to cause interference in the POTW.

  • Mine drainage means any drainage, and any water pumped or siphoned, from an active mining area or a post-mining area. The abbreviation “ml/l” means milliliters per liter.

  • Loading means the quantity of a specific substance present per unit of surface area, such as the amount of lead in micrograms contained in the dust collected from a certain surface area divided by the surface area in square feet or square meters.

  • Basement means any area of the building having its floor subgrade (below ground level) on all sides.

  • Engine degreaser means a cleaning product designed to remove grease, grime, oil and other contaminants from the external surfaces of engines and other mechanical parts.
