Crossing the chasm definition

Crossing the chasm to mass adoption means moving from “developer driven” early adopters to solution-seeking line administrators. They are looking for “stacks” of software that solve their problem, requiring minimum configuration and no software modification, and assured technical support. The interests of the installed base differ from prospective users—stability over features, incremental change over major upgrades, and sustained organization over creative chaos.
