Benthic community definition

Benthic community means organisms that live in and on the bottom substrate of a surface water body.
Benthic community means the assemblage of organisms, substrate, and structural formations found at or near the bottom that is periodically or permanently covered by water.
Benthic community means organisms which live in streams or lake bottoms, typically used as indicators of water quality.
