Backfiles definition

Backfiles include AATCC online publications content published since January 1, 2014, which is available at the date of this agreement in a format supported by online services, and was published before the date of the Licensee's current subscription. With a current paid subscription, the Licensee has access to backfiles published starting January 1, 2014. If the Licensee does not renew a subscription or allows the subscription to lapse, the backfile access is terminated. Once the Licensee renews the subscription, the backfile access is reinstated. The Licensee will only retain perpetual access for the subscription periods purchased.

  • On expiration or termination of this Publishing Agreement, and without further compensation to the University, the Publisher shall have the non-exclusive right to maintain a perpetual digital archive of the Backfiles in order to provide continued online access to subscribers that shall have subscribed for access to the Journal as part of SpringerLink or any other database and that shall have received access to Journals via any such database at any time prior to that expiration or termination.

  • Backfill means any foreign material, usually pea gravel or sand, which usually differs from the native soil and is used to support or cover the underground storage tank system.
