Only St ▇▇▇▇▇▇’s Children’s Society staff members employed to work on Scotland’s Adoption Register have operational access to the Register.
The ‘Scotland’s Adoption Register Regulations 2016’ provide details of the information that must be provided to the Scottish Ministers for inclusion on the Register (Annex C & D).

Under that Act, and the Scotland’s Adoption Register Regulations 2016, adoption agencies are required to supply certain information about children and prospective adopters to the Register for the purposes of facilitating adoption.
All identifiable information available through the Register should only be shared with those immediately involved in identifying a match for that referral as per Regulation 7(2) of the Scotland’s Adoption Register Regulations 2016.
The Register will be recording the following sensitive personal data as identified in the Data Protection Act (1998): • Ethnic Origins • Religious beliefs • Physical or mental health condition This sensitive information is gathered as part of the process for identifying potential links with particular reference to the obligations set out in the Scotland’s Adoption Register Regulations 2016.
