The U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and Iowa State University (University) enter into this resolution agreement (Agreement) to resolve the allegations in the above-referenced complaint. This Agreement does not constitute an admission of liability, noncompliance, or wrongdoing by the University. The University assures OCR that it will take the following actions to comply with the requirements of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), 29 U.S.C. § 794, and its implementing regulation at 34 C.F.R. Part 104, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Title II), 42 U.S.C. § 12131 et seq., and its implementing regulation at 28 C.F.R. Part 35, which prohibit discrimination based on disability by recipients of Federal financial assistance and public entities, respectively.

Michigan State University (the University, or MSU) has entered into this Resolution Agreement to resolve the above-referenced directed investigation and to ensure the University’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), 20 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq., and its implementing regulation, 34 C.F.R. Part 106. The University shall not be deemed to have made any admission of liability by the negotiation, entry into, or performance of the terms or conditions of this Resolution Agreement.
