In order to be considered as a guardian you must first be at least 18 years of age, have a valid state-issued photo ID showing your current address and have verifiable consent from your landlord. In an effort to assure more satisfactory guardianship, we ask your cooperation in the completion of this application. Just as there are guidelines for the adoption of a child, there are guidelines for the placement of animals. Although SOAR eagerly seeks the prompt placement of our animal residents, experience has shown that some situations are not consistent with the welfare of the animal. Unsatisfactory placements can result in an unpleasant experience for your family and many times can traumatize the pet. We reserve the right to refuse any placement we consider unsatisfactory. This is not a reflection on you personally, but simply that a particular pet may not do well in your situation. We feel our experience in this area must be our guide to a successful adoption.

The Puppy will be going home no earlier than 12 weeks old. By that time, the Puppy will have had three shots, a minimum of three deworms, will be microchipped and has been seen by a vet to ensure the Puppy has a clean bill of health (which includes, but is not limited to physical appearance, including patellas and hips, heart sounds, organ placement, eyes, ears, mouth/bite, temperature). This bill of health provides the Adopter with a one-year Health Warranty on hereditary or congenital issues for the Puppy (which includes, but is not limited to issues such as portosystemic shunts, severe luxating patella requiring surgery, retinal atrophy and corneal dystrophy leading to juvenile onset blindness). In the case of issues arising before the one year is up, Rainbow Amour will take the puppy back and offer a replacement puppy to the Adopter (replacement time is subject to availability). A deposit in the amount of $500 is required to hold the puppy of your choice. The outstanding balance shall be paid in Cash, before the purchaser obtains possession of the puppy. The puppy will be picked up at our home between 6-8 weeks unless other arrangements have been made in writing and shown below**. WHEN YOU PICK YOUR PUPPY UP, WE ACCEPT ONLY CASH FOR THE BALANCE.
