The Master Coal Purchase and Sale Agreement with an effective date of January 1, 1999 will govern coal transactions between MidAmerican Energy Company and Alpha Coal Sales Co., LLC. The Master Agreement provides the general terms and conditions pursuant to which MidAmerican or Alpha is able to purchase from or sell to the other party. The Master Agreement provides that all specific transactions must be agreed to in a separate written confirmation.
