BPCL temporarily leased/chartered the Grand Classica to Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) to serve as temporary housing for construction workers while their NCL ship was located at their Seattle, Washington port. Traditionally, the period between late August and December marks BPCL’s historically slowest season of the year. We were informed that this was the motivating factor to lease the vessel. The Grand Classica departed from the Port of Palm Beach on August 17. She is scheduled to return to our Port on October 10, 2019 to begin a new every-other-day service to Nassau, Bahamas, hence missing 27 sailings.

The owner has proposed that the two owners agree to a boundary line agreement to establish a new boundary line between the two lots. The City’s position is that it is a civil issue and if both parties agree, and record the boundary line agreement at the Cumberland County Registry of Deed, the City would follow the new boundary line and both lots would remain legally nonconforming with the change in the boundary.
