For several months, the Department has been working with trustees representing Westhampton Woods subdivision regarding the possibility of improving State Route 109 at the entrance to their subdivision. When Westhampton Woods subdivision was constructed in the mid 1990’s, the builder was required to complete improvements to Route 109 at Westhampton Woods Drive, which serves as the primary access to the subdivision. These improvements included a southbound left turn lane and the addition of an 8’ wide shoulder along northbound State Route 109. Westhampton Woods Drive is a city maintained, public roadway.

The Contract Documents, hereby placed on file with the City Clerk, consist of the Agreement, the General Conditions of City-Contractor Agreement, State Wage Determination, Non-Collusion Affidavit executed and provided by Contractor, Performance Payment Bond provided by Contractor, Specifications, Drawings, the Construction Schedule, all Addenda, and all Modifications issued after execution of this Agreement. All definitions set forth in the General Conditions of City-Contractor Agreement are applicable to this Agreement. When any provision(s) of the Contract Documents conflict, the provision(s) most advantageous to the City shall govern.

Re: Contractor Agreement for the 2019 Ultra-thin Bonded Asphalt Wearing Surface Project

This project will install an ultrathin overlay of hot asphaltic concrete with a minimum compacted thickness of ¾ inches. The Nova Chip product is designed to provide a new asphalt concrete wearing surface, which will improve pavement skid resistance, and has been known to provide good resident satisfaction during and after installation. The Nova Chip is expected to last about 8-10 years, while preventing further damage to the pavement. By using the Nova Chip product, we can expect that the pavement can be restored to traffic immediately following installation, as with a conventional resurfacing project.
