The church has always and especially seen to the pastoral care for soldiers and adjusted it to the different requirements. The participation of national armed forces in international operations requires the respective national military chaplaincies to achieve a close joint pastoral work in order to help soldiers to get an easy and futile access to the Church’s teaching and the perception of the sacraments under these unique circumstances.
