Therefore, the professional teacher manifests: (a) the mastery of a sound educational philosophy and its skillful application in the art of teaching; (b) readiness to assimilate significant new points of view and to adjust instructional practices to accommodate changes; (c) a thorough understanding of students’ psychological behavior and physiological development and the ability to utilize effectively this fundamental information in instruction; and (d) skill in directing and guiding students as they develop through learning experiences.
