Tentative Agreement: WMU-AAUP; Version 3Tentative Agreement • June 29th, 2021
Faculty members shall serve a probationary period which shall not exceed six (6) consecutive recognized years (see 17.§2.4.1 and 17.§2.4.2) of full-time tenure-track appointment, or the equivalent thereof. Credit may be given for full-time service at the rank of instructor or higher at Western or in other accredited institutions of higher learning. Allowance may be made for other appropriate and comparable professional service. Allowance for prior service in either instance, or both combined, shall not exceed four (4) years. The exact number of years remaining in the probationary period at Western shall be stipulated in writing and approved by the provost at the time of the initial tenure-track appointment.
