Wrappers. Full-time wrappers may be employed and their duties shall be con fined to slicing luncheon meats and sausage; clean-up work in the market; stocking cases; and wrapping, scaling, and pricing. Wrap pers may be employed at a ratio of one wrapper for every four meat cutters (jour neymen and apprentices) under a formula tion of using the total complement of meat cutters in the local union to determine the number of wrappers an employer may em ploy. Wrappers shall not use knives, saws, grinders, cube machines or other mechanical equipment used in the preparation or pro- essing of fresh meats or poultry other than as specified above. Present market person nel will not be reclassified or laid off due to the hiring of wrappers. A quarterly report covering the number of wrappers employed in relationship to the number of meat cut ters (apprentices and journeymen) shall be furnished the Union.

In the same 2010 EBU study, broadcasters emphasised the serious nature of the problem of interoperabil- ity, giving it a score of 93 out of a maximum of 100. On the whole, the archiving sector seems to have the choice between several complex MXF versions for SD, provided that they are mathematically lossless, be it the MXF Samma profile MJ2K, AXF files,48 or if one were to wait for the adoption of the MXF AS 07 specification.49 It seems inevitable that there will be some interoperability problems with formats that are not yet well-established (see previous commentary regarding experiences with audio). For this reason, some (in particular public video archives in the US) continue to opt for pure linear for- mats50 and their corresponding tandem files, packaged using BagIt,51 and are therefore forced to accept the 2.5-fold memory requirements. The same cannot be said for RIFF-based AVI files, which can also be played back on anyWindows computer.With ffdshow52 or LAV filters,53 the open source community also provides suitable packages for system-level decoding.They support codecs, aspect ratio, and multi-channel audio — all license-free and without the need for special hardware.
