Work Restrictions. 5.1 The parties expressly recognize that the efficient utilization of the warehouse concept in food and related product merchandising requires the coordination of outside suppliers, merchandisers, salesmen and in-store employees. No restrictions shall be placed on outside service merchandisers, service drivers, driver salesmen, salesmen or merchandisers who represent or otherwise handle products to be sold by the Employer. No bargaining unit employee shall be laid off or reduced in hours as a result of work being performed by any outside service merchandisers, service drivers, driver salesmen, salesmen or merchandisers. Demonstration work may, at the discretion of the Employer, be assigned to employees or subcontracted. During the term of this Agreement, the Employer agrees that no currently recognized department or major portion thereof shall be subcontracted or leased to others. Major departments shall be identified as Meat, Grocery, Produce and Front end.
