WORK BOOT ALLOWANCE. Full time employees who are required and approved by management to wear a specific safety-type work shoe/boot or a uniform shoe/boot and whose employing department does not already provide said shoes or boots, or a purchase voucher, shall receive a biweekly non-pensionable amount of $8.00 per pay period and intermittent and half-time employees shall receive a biweekly non-pensionable amount of $4.00 per pay period for the purchase, repair and maintenance of said shoes or boots. Each department shall develop safety shoe standards to include safety requirements, style and color consistent with operating needs and reasonable uniformity. All employees, including new hires and transfers, shall be responsible for compliance with these standards. Failure to wear approved and serviceable safety shoes while on duty may subject the employee to appropriate discipline.

Full time employees in the class of Senior and Chief Environmental Compliance Inspector, Code 4293 and 4289 in the Watershed Protection Division shall be required to wear their boots in compliance with all local and State laws while performing their duties and assignments. Management will provide the boots for this class when employed in the Watershed Protection Division.
WORK BOOT ALLOWANCE. In additional to all other compensation, individuals required to wear steel toe boots shall be reimbursed up to $100 per calendar year for the purchase of steel toe boots, with presentation of receipt of purchase.
WORK BOOT ALLOWANCE. Where a regular employee is required, as a condition of employment, to provide and wear approved safety footwear during the course of the employee’s regular duties, the employee will be eligible for an allowance up to one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) once per fiscal year, to help offset the cost to the employee of purchasing approved safety footwear. Casual employees will be reimbursed for footwear after the completion of eighty (80) hours. The allowance will be paid under the following conditions:
WORK BOOT ALLOWANCE. The City will contribute $240 per employee per year toward the purchase of a pair of work boots. The contribution shall be used towards the purchase of a pair of work boots appropriate to each employee's assignment and responsibility (i.e., steel toed boot vs. basic boot), as determined by the employee’s department head. Said contribution will be in the form of a voucher to be used at one of three vendors selected by the Association. If the cost of a pair of work boots is less than the total amount of the boot voucher, the employee may use any remaining amount towards the purchase of boot dressing, shoe laces, socks and related items. Employees may instead elect to request two vouchers per year each in the amount equal to one-half of the annual contribution. Employees may then purchase two less expensive pairs of boots each year. If an employee chooses the option of the voucher, a minimum of five (5) months must pass before that employee is eligible for the second voucher. If the boot purchase is less than the voucher amount, the employee may use the remaining amount as stated above. It will be the employee's responsibility to keep the boots clean and in good repair. It is further the employee’s responsibility to wear his/her work boots at all times in the performance of his/her duties. Vendor selection and voucher system arrangements will be the responsibility of the employee’s department head. The voucher(s) will be issued on or before August 1 of each year. Employees who elect to purchase boots within sixty (60) days of their effective date of termination shall have the cost of the boots deducted from their final paycheck. The work boot allowance shall continue to apply to employees in the below designated classifications: Equipment Mechanic Crewleader, Building and Facilities Crewleader, Maintenance Crewleader, Solid Waste Crewleader, Infrastructure Crewleader, and Tree Trimmer Crewleader. Building Inspector, Senior Building Inspector, Public Works Inspector, Senior Public Works Inspector, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
WORK BOOT ALLOWANCE. A work boot allowance of up to $250 will be paid every eighteen (18) months upon production of receipt, or sooner as required subject to management approval.
WORK BOOT ALLOWANCE. The Company will provide to each employee an annual work boot allowance in the amount of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for the purchase of safety work boots. Employees must wear CSA approved boots at all times. Furthermore, employees must present a proper receipt for the purchase of said shoes to the Company in order to be reimbursed.
