Weekend Program. The Hospital may create twelve-hour positions which will be part of a weekend program (the “Program”). The Hospital shall determine which positions are part of the Program. As a guideline, however, positions will be included in the Program if they regularly require an employee to work: During the weekend, shifts that are regularly scheduled to begin Friday at 7:00 a.m. through Sunday at 11:00 p.m. An employee in a position that is designated by the Hospital as part of the Program and who are regularly scheduled to work three (3) twelve (12) hour weekend shifts per week shall receive forty (40) hours pay. However, in order to be eligible for forty (40) hours pay based on thirty-six (36) regularly scheduled hours of work, an employee must work or be paid accrued ETO time equal to or greater than 36 hours in a pay period. For example, if an employee is regularly scheduled to work three 12-hour shifts in a week and is absent from work for one 12-hour shift, the employee will only be paid 40 hours if she is paid 12 hours of accrued ETO time for the one-day absence. If for whatever reason, the employee is not paid 12 hours of accrued time, she will only be paid 24 hours for the week. An employee in the Program will be eligible for overtime as described in Section 28.2 above. Weekend Program. PROOF The implementation and continuation of the weekend program is based on the needs of the hospital and is at the discretion of hospital management. The current weekend program has been provided under separate cover that includes a provision that provides non-probationary weekend program employees a certification allowance of one thousand dollars ($1000) per year paid out at five hundred dollars ($500) every six months upon certification/re- certification in a clinical specialty. An allowance shall be limited to certification in one area. When certification is a requirement of the position, the nurse is ineligible for a certification allowance. The parties agree that in the event changes to the weekend program are needed during the term of this agreement such PROOF discussions will take place in accordance with the Meet and Discuss provision, Article 26.

Weekend Program. Effective February 27, 1994:
Weekend Program. The Hospital currently has a Weekender staff program. It is understood that the Hospital may, at its sole discretion, eliminate, narrow or expand this program completely or on a unit by unit basis. Before eliminating, expanding or narrowing the program the Hospital will provide the Union with thirty (30) calendar days written notice of its proposed action, and upon request will meet and discuss the changes and any potential alternatives with the Union. In the event an agreeable alternative cannot be reached, the Hospital may proceed to implement the changes. However, the Hospital will not eliminate the program altogether with respect to the employee(s) currently participating in it, as of the ratification date, prior to December 31, 2018. The Hospital shall not be obligated to replace any employee(s) currently participating in the program who leave employment prior to December 31, 2018.
