Common use of Virtual Visits Clause in Contracts

Virtual Visits. Covered Services received through Virtual Visits do not require Prior Authorization unless the Covered Service would require Prior Authorization if provided in person. The Insured does not have to establish a relationship with a Virtual Visit Provider to receive services. SHL does not require the Provider delivering Virtual Visits to demonstrate the necessity to provide services through Virtual Visits or to receive additional certifications or licenses to provide Virtual Visits. SHL will not refuse to provide coverage because of the distant site from which the contracted Virtual Visit Provider provides Covered Services or the originating site at which the Insured receives Virtual Visit Covered Services. SHL will not require Covered Services to be provided through Virtual Visits as a condition of coverage.
