Veterinary Services. a. Unless any such procedure is deemed unsuitable by an ASPCA veterinarian, all animals brought to the ASPCA, either directly or through the ASPCA transport system, pursuant to this Agreement will be spayed or neutered, tattooed, and vaccinated against rabies (if no proof of a current rabies vaccine is provided and such vaccination is deemed medically appropriate). b. All cats in traps will be ear-tipped at the time of surgery. c. All animals will be tattooed at the time of surgery. d. Friendly animals will receive a complimentary nail trim. e. If an animal experiences post-operative complications requiring follow-up care as a direct result of veterinary services, you must contact the ASPCA’s Client Services Call Center at 877-SPAY- NYC. The ASPCA’s Client Services Call Center will determine whether you will be reimbursed for post-operative expenses. If such authorization for reimbursement is given, the ASPCA will, in its discretion, either cover such additional costs directly or reimburse you for out-of-pocket costs you incur to provide that care. i. Post-operative expenses will not be reimbursed by the ASPCA unless you have received advance authorization from the ASPCA’s Client Services Call Center at 877-SPAY- NYC. You must receive advance authorization from the ASPCA Call Center even if you are bringing an animal to the ▇▇▇▇▇ Memorial Animal Hospital. ii. Transportation costs to and from any follow-up care facility, including one of the ASPCA mobile clinics, are always your responsibility and will not be covered by the ASPCA. iii. Should you fail to follow the aftercare protocol provided to you by the ASPCA when you retrieve your animal(s) from the ASPCA, the ASPCA will not ordinarily provide reimbursement of any post-operative expenses. f. Medication will only be dispensed to you by the ASPCA with the explicit authorization of an ASPCA veterinarian and will be provided solely to animals that have been or are currently being treated by the ASPCA. The dispensation of medication will be in the sole discretion of the ASPCA. g. Any dog or cat determined to be already spayed or neutered prior to sedation will not receive any services. h. If a dog or cat is sedated, and it is discovered that he or she has been already spayed or neutered, services requested will be provided (including ear tip for feral cats), but the animal will not receive a tattoo. i. Should you choose to act against veterinary medical advice at any time during the course of treatment, you must sign a waiver. If you are unable to come to the clinic to sign the waiver, an ASPCA representative may take such authorization over the phone in the presence of witnesses.
