Common use of VET Clause in Contracts

VET. In the event the Employer decides to contract out, the Employer agrees to give the Institute notice in writing, at least six (6) months prior to contracting out any work, which may result in the lay off of any employee in the bargaining unit. Discussions will commence between the parties within ten (10) days of such notice and every reasonable effort will be made to provide continuing employment for affected employees with the contractor.
