Verbal Discussion. The employee shall first discuss the alleged grievance with the immediate supervisor. The employee must clearly indicate that this is a Step 1 grievance discussion. This shall be done within thirty (30) days after the occurrence, or knowledge of the occurrence giving rise to the alleged grievance. The employee may have a Union representative present during this discussion. The immediate supervisor will provide a written summary of the verbal discussion to the employee and Union within five (5) working days.
