Common use of Valid Driver’s Licence Clause in Contracts

Valid Driver’s Licence. (a) It shall not be a condition of employment for any employee in the Legal and Union Representative Component to maintain a valid British Columbia Driver’s Licence; however, no such employee shall receive any of the vehicle allowance(s) specified in Clause(s) 19.01, 19.02, and 19.03 above in respect of any period of time when they do not possess this licencing. It is the employee’s responsibility to inform the Employer when they do not possess a valid British Columbia Driver’s Licence. (b) Subject to the other provisions of this Article 19, all employees in the Legal and Union Representative Component as defined in Clause 19.01 shall be responsible for their own transportation when carrying out their duties within the South Coast of British Columbia. If loss of a valid driver’s license unduly affects any such employee’s ability to perform their work within this geographic area, then they may be subject to discipline. The definition of South Coast shall mean, from Whistler to Hope, the Sunshine Coast and South to the US border, excluding ▇▇▇▇▇▇ River and Vancouver Island.
