VACATION ADJUSTMENTS Clause Samples

The "Vacation Adjustments" clause defines how an employee's vacation entitlement may be modified under certain circumstances. This clause typically outlines situations such as changes in employment status, leaves of absence, or company policy updates that could increase or decrease the amount of vacation time an employee can take. For example, if an employee moves from part-time to full-time status, their vacation days might be recalculated accordingly. The core function of this clause is to ensure that vacation benefits remain fair and consistent with employment changes, preventing misunderstandings or disputes about time off entitlements.
VACATION ADJUSTMENTS. An employee's vacation accrual shall be adjusted for all periods of leave of absence including leaves for illness or injury as defined elsewhere in this agreement by reducing the number of vacation hours accrued in direct proportion to the number of hours of leave within the employee's anniversary year. Such reductions shall be applied to any accrued and unused vacation available in the calendar year the adjustment is made, or when such adjustment exceeds the employee's available vacation, the excess shall be applied against the employee's next vacation accrual or the employee's final paycheck, whichever occurs first. It is understood that no adjustment to vacation accrual will be made for sick leave or during the first sixty (60) calendar days of any disability leave.
VACATION ADJUSTMENTS. If employees are in layoff status and unable to use their vacation allotment for that year, the unused vacation shall be automatically carried over to the next year.
VACATION ADJUSTMENTS a. A Pilot will receive three (3) hours pay and credit for each day of vacation or the value of the trips missed for each vacation period, whichever is greater. b. A Pilot will not be responsible for trips in conflict with a vacation period. The value of trips lost due to vacation will be deducted from the Pilot’s line value. A Pilot who does not move his vacation will be guaranteed and paid at least the minimum monthly guarantee. c. A Pilot may request that he remain on the portion of his trip before his vacation, or that he be placed back on the portion of his trip following his vacation. The Pilot will be allowed to leave/rejoin his bid trip when the trip transits the Pilot’s domicile. Line Value will only be reduced for the portion of a trip not actually flown. Requests of this nature must be submitted to Crew Planning. If due to irregular operations, the Pilot does not transit his base as scheduled, he will be removed from his trip at his request. d. A Pilot may move his vacation three (3) days by giving notice to Crew Planning no later than seventy-two (72) hours after the initial bid is posted. The request will be considered and granted if staffing permits. i. If the movement of vacation will not cause it to crossover from one bid period to the next (unless already so doing), then the Pilot will be granted the move unless extraordinary circumstances exist. ii. If the movement of vacation results in a loss of trips greater than the loss resulting from the vacation as originally scheduled and the loss (including credit of the vacation days) drops the Pilot’s line value below the minimum guarantee, then the Pilot will be entitled not to the minimum guarantee but to the reduced value.
VACATION ADJUSTMENTS. 4 1. If a lineholder is scheduled for a trip which overlaps a vacation 5 period, such trip will automatically be dropped from his/her line of time 6 unless the flight attendant elects to split the trip. 8 2. A flight attendant, at his/her option, may split a trip that conflicts 9 with a vacation period at his/her domicile. In all cases duty rig ends 10 fifteen minutes (:15) after the claimant returns to his/her domicile. Pay 11 for such split trips shall be in accordance with Section 10.Q. 13 3. A reserve flight attendant, at his/her option, may slip up to two 14 (2) of his/her days off without pay to provide time off before or after 15 vacation periods of seven (7) or more days. Additional days may be 16 slipped according to the needs of the service.
