Vacancy Procedures. A. The Department will accept and consider NNU comments on posted vacancy announcements. B. NNU may make recommendations for criteria to be used for all newly created bargaining unit RN positions. The Department will provide draft position announcements for the newly created bargaining unit positions to NNU which may submit comments within 48 hours of receipt. C. Vacancy announcements may be advertised simultaneously internally and externally, and will contain the same qualifications. The Department is encouraged to give internal RNs first consideration when filling bargaining unit positions. D. RNs will have an opportunity to apply for a posted vacancy. Applicants that are interviewed for a job vacancy will be asked the same questions related to the job and past experiences as indicated in the vacancy announcement. This provision does not limit the department's right to ask additional questions based upon the responses of the applicant. The RN will apply for positions as indicated in the announcement. E. When selecting from an internal certificate, and the Department determines that two or more RNs are equally qualified and competent for a position, the most senior RN will be selected. F. Shadowing consists of up to a four-hour observation period during which the RN will shadow/observe another RN on the unit for which he/she has been selected. This will allow the RN selectee to make an informed decision regarding the new position prior to acceptance. When requested by a RN, he/she may be allowed to shadow. This experience will be arranged by the supervisors of the affected areas. G. All bargaining unit applicants will be notified of the selection or non-selection in writing. All non-selected bargaining unit applicants will be given the opportunity to discuss with the selecting official (or designee) how he/she can improve his/her chances for selection in the future. NNU will be notified of the selection when a bargaining unit selectee has accepted a bargaining unit position. H. When a vacancy is filled internally, effort will be made to make the transfer within 60 days of the decision. If the RN cannot be moved within 60 days, the Department will provide a firm move day with the expectation that the move will occur in the next 30 days. Vacancy Procedures. The Board shall cause to be posted on all union-designated bulletin boards in all buildings where employees in the appropriate unit are employed, all vacancies of all known vacant positions. Openings may be posted or advertised by such other procedures as deemed appropriate by the Board. The Board will post the position, qualifications, and salary range along with hours and designated length of time for all vacancies. Employees interested in such vacancies shall apply online through the applicant portal. Qualified, interested employees should consult with their immediate supervisor and inform him that they plan to apply for the position. Employees should notify Human Resources in writing of their intent to cancel their request. Building and district 489 seniority together with other qualifications shall be considered in filling vacant positions. All applications for transfer or assignment to the vacant position shall be subject to the sole determination of the Board or its authorized representative.

S. Mail. Such notification shall specify the position, number of hours per day, days/months per year, rate of pay, and a copy of the job description shall be attached. Employees shall be given ten (10) work days to respond, after such time the vacancy will be filled according to vacancy procedures. d. The Appointing Authority shall be responsible for notifying the Union of vacancies and awards.

Vacancy Procedures. 13.4.1 The District shall fill all vacancies by completing procedures in the following priority order: 13.4.1.1 The District shall recall bargaining unit members on the reemployment list as required by the provisions of Article XIV. 13.4.1.2 The District shall complete necessary involuntary transfer. 13.4.1.3 The District shall offer the position to those bargaining unit members with the same classification and a lesser number of regularly assigned hours. The applicant with the greatest District seniority within the classification shall be given the vacant position provided the most recent evaluation on file has an overall meets or exceed standards. 13.4.1.4 The District shall complete all requests for lateral transfers in accordance with Section 13.5. 13.4.1.5 The District shall complete all requests for promotions in accordance with Section 13.7.

Vacancy Procedures a. The superintendent shall make available a listing of teaching vacancies that exist in the district as they occur. Notices shall be distributed to all teachers. Positions will be held open for at least five (5) school days. b. A teacher shall submit a written request to the superintendent indicating his or her interest in the available position. c. If more than one teacher applies for the same vacancy, the teacher deemed best qualified by the superintendent shall be appointed to the position. d. Upon the request of the teacher, reasons for denial shall be given in writing by the superintendent.
