Common use of Vacancy Defined Clause in Contracts

Vacancy Defined. A vacancy for this and all other provisions of this contract shall be a position currently held by a bargaining unit member that becomes vacant due to the death, resignation, retirement, non-renewal, termination, leave of absence, promotion or transfer of the bargaining unit member that the Board decides to fill or the creation of a new bargaining unit position by the Board.
