VA Standards Clause Samples
VA Standards. The A/E shall use the VA Construction Standards in preparing Schematics for the project. However, should the A/E determine that a deviation from such standards and specifications is necessary or beneficial to the Government, he shall promptly submit a request in writing to the Contracting Officer for permission to make the deviation. The request shall include an explanation of the specific reasons for the desired change and benefits expected.
VA Standards. When VA airworthiness or environmental standards are specified and any of the following apply:
(1) limited past experience by the CA with the application of VA standards to a CA product;
(2) new VA standards with an important impact on the whole product or a product’s critical feature; or
(3) new VA standards requiring engineering judgment to find compliance. Project VIs: In complement to Generic VIs, Project VIs are also established. Indeed, a validation project may contain unique elements due to the product’s design, use, or proposed MoC. The VA may identify these elements for special review and consideration. These Project VIs are developed by the VA team solely to address unique project elements and are defined in respect of the level of involvement principles as per subparagraph 2.1.4. In addition, Project VIs will meet one of the following criteria:
