UTILITY MAN is an employee who is primarily directed by the Dispatch office. His duties shall be to drive service vehicles and general duties, as directed by the Dispatch office.
UTILITY MAN. Under no circumstances shall these people be hired in lieu of apprentices and if the Employer has the quota necessary for an apprentice, he must give the apprentice preference. No employee shall suffer a reduction in wages upon signing this Agreement. At least three (3) journeymen sheet metal workers shall be employed before a utility man may be hired. Before an additional utility man shall be employed, fifteen (15) journeymen sheet metal workers shall be employed. Before a third utility man shall be employed, thirty (30) journeymen sheet metal workers shall be employed. UTILITY MAN is an employee whose duties include driving service vehicles, swamping, container maintenance which may include minor welding, small vehicle route collection, pull out truck operation, single container delivery and pick up using a fork truck or other vehicle designed to deliver or pick up one container at a time, and other general labouring duties as directed. The employee will be paid the appropriate rate of pay for the work performed.
UTILITY MAN. Covering Class "A" mechanical work with licence, majority of welding work, sprinkler maintenance, shop metal fabrication, miscellaneous equipment and motor maintenance with required electrical work.
